Help & information

A little clarity goes a long way.

What is the Alderford City Portal?

Alderford is a fictional city used to demonstrate a municipal website and matching admin template. The content, events, requests, departments, and contact details are examples rather than official city information.

How do I find the right city service?

Open the Services page and search by a keyword or choose a department. Each service has a detail page with information and a link to the request form.

Can I submit a resident request?

Yes, as a demonstration. Use the request form with fictional details and keep the reference number. The record is saved in your browser and appears in the admin Requests screen. It is not submitted to any authority.

How do I track a request?

Open Track a request and enter your reference. Admin status and public-note changes appear when you check again in the same browser and website origin. Requests are not shared across devices.

Are the event bookings real?

No. Events are fictional. You can download a sample calendar reminder, but this template does not sell tickets, collect payments, or reserve places.

Where are my form entries stored?

The demo uses local browser storage on the same website origin. There is no database server, email delivery, or protected authentication. Clear or reset the demo data in the admin Settings screen.

Can I download city documents?

Yes. Sample documents download as text files. Replace them with approved documents and connect a secure file-storage service for a real deployment.

How do I access the admin workspace?

Use the Admin workspace link in the top bar or footer. It is an open demonstration and does not provide a secure login. Do not use it with confidential information.

Can I use this for a real city website?

The front-end can be adapted, but a real deployment requires a backend, authentication, authorisation, privacy review, accessible content, approved city data, and proper handling of resident information.

Where do the photographs come from?

Pexels photos are configured as remote sources. Local preview images are shown if a remote photo cannot load. The included downloader can save the selected Pexels images locally. All images are illustrative.
